HEALTHCARE AFGHANISTAN
Working for HealthProm and ARETE Stories I documented their projects working towards improved healthcare in Balkh Province, Afghanistan. SPANNER UK working together with HealthProm developed a donkey saddle able to help pregnant women travel to a clinic. Most women in the area are unable to travel the long distances to visit a doctor, this saddle was developed specifically for pregnant women with this in mind. Bringing the ability for women to travel further distances often with little or no access to roads.
Working directly with a doctor from HealthProm I was able to visit these women using the saddle and other community outreach projects.
